Lucas will swing all day long, he just loves to sit and swing and squeal! It rained all day yesterday so I was glad we had a rain-less day to walk to the little playground in our neighborhood. Enjoy the pictures!
Karate Chopping, Teeth, and a Lion
Sunday, October 25, 2009
Lucas is now 24 weeks old, so hard to believe. This week several of our friends have had babies and it isn't until you see how tiny newborns are that I realize how big my boy is getting!
We are almost done introducing all of the vegetables in stage 1 foods, he has one more day of green beans before we move onto fruit. I have kept my video camera ready for some terrible faces, but he has loved everything! We went to Chik-Fil-A for lunch this week and I had some pretty tart lemonade, so I gave him some in a straw hoping for a hilarious reaction....did I get one? no, he smiled really big and then kept lunging toward my cup for the rest of lunch. This kid likes real food and drink I guess!
Lucas has mastered blowing bubbles this week, every where we go....we blow bubbles. I was carrying him in the baby bjorn through the mall the other day and the front of the bjorn was soaked by the time we were done!
As you can see from the following picture, it is hard to get our normal Marley picture now that Lucas can move around. It is also hard this week because he is teething (I can see his top and bottom two teeth pushing down the gums) and would rather eat Marley....out of frustration, he decided to do a karate kick.....
Lucas' Trip to the Pumpkin Patch!
Tuesday, October 20, 2009
We were told about Walden Farms, a pumpkin patch near us in Smyrna and decided to go on Sunday. It was beautiful out, mid 50s, bright sun and blue sky. This farm was really cool, there were over a thousand people there. They had hayrides, corn mazes, face painting, live music, food, pumpkins, toys, animals, and plenty of place to take pictures :)
I just "happened" to break my camera on Saturday, so for Sweetest Day I got a new one and I love how much better it is than my old one.
Lucas is getting closer to sitting up on his own, he can last for a few moments before falling, so we actually have him braced on all 4 sides with pumpkins!
Yum, if I could just get this grass into my mouth...
Catching Up

We are here safely in Nashville and starting to get this house turned into a home, box by box! Actually, more like items out of a box at a time...with a 4 month old it is hard to get one box done in a block of time!
It was pretty cold our last week in Michigan (actually, the whole summer, but especially our last week). The Monday we drove down to TN, my car said 46 degrees. Yes folks, that was on August 31st! Lucas got lots of wear out of one of his sweatsuits.
Our movers were supposed to meet us at our house on Monday, well they didn't come until Tuesday so we had time to clean and get some little things done. I ended up getting pretty sick on Monday night (great timing!) so I was incredibly thankful that my mom was here. She took care of Lucas and monitored/instructed movers for me while I slept.
My mom was here for a week helping set up my home and she is a super hero. seriously. I have loved having her here to take care of Lucas, keep me company while Josh is at work, unpack, clean and organize rooms. I don't know what I would have done without her. She is visiting her mom now in Texas, but will return here next week.
Lucas showing off his dad's new book :)
Moving break for Grandma Sugar and Lucas to read a great book that our friends Danny and Kendall gave us.
4 Months old already! I can't believe it. We started him on rice cereal last night and he loved it. I wasn't sure how much to give him the first time but I really think he would have ate whatever I gave him. I was hoping for a good night sleep after that.....but no. Lucas has been getting up every 3 hours again since we moved. I am hoping this doesn't last for too long.
Jackson came to visit! I had so much fun seeing Megan and it was good to get the boys together again.....one boy is teething....what do you think ?!
hanging out at neighborhood pool
Lucas' room is complete, that was my first priority to get him in a place that was familiar. We just have to paint next week!
